Terms of use
1. General
These terms apply to the website toilerate.com (ToileRate). The service is provided by [not set], company code [not set], [not set] (“we”). By using the site or creating an account you accept these terms and the privacy policy.
2. The service
ToileRate is a free directory of toilets with visitor reviews. Information (opening hours, access, price) is indicative: it comes from visitors, businesses and public sources, so we cannot guarantee that a toilet will be open or accessible at a given time. How scores are calculated — see our method.
3. Account
- Accounts are for people aged 14 and over. One person — one visitor account.
- Give a valid email and keep your password safe; you are responsible for activity in your account.
- A business account represents a business and cannot rate places.
- You can delete your account at any time on the account page.
4. Rules for reviews and photos
- Rate only places you visited yourself and describe your own experience.
- Do not rate places you are connected with (employee, owner, competitor) and do not rate for payment.
- Do not publish personal data: names, phone numbers, licence plates, images of people.
- No advertising, links, insults, hate speech, threats or illegal content.
- Upload only photos you took yourself, without people in them.
5. Moderation and complaints
Reviews, photos and business replies are checked before publication. AI helps us, but doubtful cases are decided by a person. We may refuse or remove content or restrict an account if these terms or the law are breached; we tell you the decision and its reason by email. If you disagree, reply to that email or write to simonas.rudaminas@gmail.com and a person will review the decision.
You can report illegal content or content that breaks these rules with the “Report” button next to a review or place, or by email to simonas.rudaminas@gmail.com (also our single point of contact for authorities and users under the EU Digital Services Act; we communicate in Lithuanian and English). We do not remove reviews just because they are negative.
6. Your content
You keep the copyright in your content. By publishing a review or photo you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, display, resize or crop it (e.g. photos) and use it in the ToileRate service and its promotion for as long as it is on the site. Deleting your account removes your content.
7. For businesses
- Managing a place is free once we confirm that you represent the business.
- A manager can update opening hours, access, contacts, upload official photos and reply publicly to reviews (replies are checked).
- A manager cannot remove, change or hide visitor reviews or influence scores. Reviews and positions in lists never depend on advertising or payments.
- Quick ratings from “Rate our cleanliness” QR stickers are shown separately and are not part of the official score.
8. Advertising
The site may show advertising. It is always labelled “Ad” or “Sponsor” and never affects ratings.
9. Liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for information provided by visitors and businesses, third-party websites or a place being open. Consumer rights that cannot be limited remain unaffected.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. We announce material changes in advance on the site or by email; continuing to use the service means you accept them.
11. Law and disputes
The law of the Republic of Lithuania applies. We first try to settle disputes by talking — write to simonas.rudaminas@gmail.com. Consumers may also contact the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority of Lithuania (vvtat.lrv.lt) or a court.
